RFX-1500/2500
The RFX-1500/2500 wire and cable locator is designed to trace and locate, all types of inside and outside service wiring and piping. The RFX family of products are one of the few proudly 100% CANADIAN MADE wire and cable locators. The RFX-1500/2500 takes the design of the RFX family of locators one step further by using a high-sensitivity receiver (RFX-2500). The RFX-1500 transmitter can be connected to LIVE AC power (up to 220V AC) to allow tracing of live electrical circuits in the house, or buried outdoors. Again, only service wire and cable.

When connected to WORKING telecommunication lines, the RFX-1500 Transmitter is totally transparent. It is not audible on phone lines, does not disrupt fax, modem, online data or voice communications.

The RFX-1500 transmitter can transmit into a ground, to enable tracing of GAS and WATER pipes buried outside.
The RFX-1500/2500 is a sophisticated RADIO transmitter and receiver operating at 455khz, with two user selectable modulation Tones (600hz/800hz), and two user selectable transmit modes (continuous and dual modulation). Continuous Mode is used for Tracing and Dual Modulation Mode is used with our patented earth probing technology.

As it is Radio Based, the RFX-1500/2500 system has a detection range of over 10 feet indoors, and can detect buried service wiring and cables down to 5 or 6 feet depending on soil conditions. The RFX 1500/2500 is optimized for underground fault location of buried service wire to depth of 2 ft.

The RFX-2500 has a headset jack for listening in noisy environments.

The System uses a "Null" mode antenna ( signals received by the side of the antenna, that is why we recommend wagging the antenna to locate the signal). When the antenna is pointed at the hidden wire , the signal will not be heard. This allows the user to pinpoint the exact location of a hidden wire or cable to within the width of the antenna. As the RFX-2500 is a high sensitivity receiver, as opposed to the RFX-2000 which is a low sensitivity receiver, the RFX-2500 often works in Peak mode instead of Null mode.

The RFX-1500/2500 System is housed in STURDY metal cases, and is supplied in a plastic carrying case. The RFX family of products will provide decades of reliable service.
All units come with a 2-meter ground extender lead, and are fully warranted for 1 year.
The RFX-1500/2500 System is powered off of a 9-volt battery (1 each). Batteries not included. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
